Southmont is owned and operated by Southmont Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation formed in 1991 under the laws of the State of New Jersey. The Foundation has been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be exempt from Federal income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue. Contributions to Southmont Foundation are tax deductible. The President of Southmont Foundation is John F. Coverdale. 

The policy of Southmont is to offer its activities either free of charge or at modest prices to make it possible for everyone who wishes to attend to do so. For this reason, Southmont is heavily dependent on contributions.
